Humanists of West Florida Message Board › HWF now taking applications for board of directors
|A former member||
The Humanists of West Florida are taking applications to serve on the board of directors for the 2013-14 year.
Our new American Humanist Association chapter is off to a running start with a strong yet compassionate mission and a sound set of bylaws. We're looking to fill all seven of the board positions since this will be our first full board of directors.
A little history: A task force was formed mid 2012 with the intention of forming a chapter of the AHA. The mission and bylaws were written and AHA accepted the organizations application. Since then this dedicated task force has worked to create policies that will take HWF into the future, creating a base for building community for non-theists on the Gulf Coast.
HWF has already begun implementing community service projects. Currently in the works is a trial project to create personal care packets to give to homeless persons. HWF is including members, friends, and their families to make this project happen. Also in process is an application to the state of Florida to Adopt-a-Highway.
We encourage anyone who is interesting working to create community for non-theists to complete an application or to contact the HWF Nominating Committee to recommend an individual.
Applications will be accepted between April 1 and April 30, 2013.
