Why are you interested in this group?

I've always wanted to read through the classics, or books that shape our cultures and the world around us. I didn't read nearly enough in school, so I'm trying to make up for it now. And of course, it always helps to have people to discuss it with!

What kinds of books are you interested in?

The classics (including 'modern classics'). Also, anything that has a deep, spiritual or inner-self type message. I can be captivated by a good biography, too. Favorites so far: All the big Russian novels, Grapes of Wrath, The Alchemist..

Anything else you'd like us to know about yourself?

I love food- stomach and brain food- thus the name "Hungry Hundred." One of my favorite things is being around a group of people having a stimulating conversation while eating some delicious food. A good wine thrown in just makes it that much better.

I'm an American on a quest to make up for all the reading I didn't do in school.
