Catskill 3500 SERIES

HUGE 8 peak weekend

Camp Baker is open Saturday night- room for 4 tents in my back yard

Blackhead Range Followed by Eastern Devil's Path!

Let's get 4 Catskill Peaks in a day!! 
Saturday- Thomas Cole - Black Dome - Black Head - Windham High Peak
(includes Acra Point and Burnt Knob)

Sunday (must RSVP for Sunday's hike seperatly)-  Plateau, Sugarloaf, Twin, Indian




Meet up Time and location:  
Trail Head at 7:30 - Departing promptly at 7:45am
Map to trail head:

(ALL HIKERS MUST MEET AT THE BARNUM RD PARKING AREA AT 7:30) We will then carpool to the trailhead. Barnum is the car spot parking lot.

The Stats:
Distance: 15 Mile loop 
Elevation gain: 4,500 Feet 
Time: 7-8 hours


**Know the route! Own a map! Know your way out!

This is a long hike over tough terrain, the group (obviously) may end up splitting up as it sometimes does on these tougher hikes. This is YOUR HIKE! Hike at your pace and enjoy the day. Some of the best views and steeper climbs can be found on this trek.

Know the opt out spots in case you can't finish. I will have a map with this information available at the start of the hike


You will find Blackhead to be among the most rewarding climbs in the Catskills.

Group Size: If the total number of hikers exceeds 20 we will split up into smaller groups separated by at least 1 mile (rules).

      There is water from a stream at the Batavia kill shelter. Maybe .25 miles off the escarpment trail. No reliable sources that I can think of the route.
