*Stone Mountain Inn is a good spot for post-hike food/drink. 1 mile west of Visitors Center on Seven Lakes Drive ( just after you drive under the Thruway).
The Hike: Please arrive on time. We start hiking at 9:15am. Moderate (not slow) pace. There is no "sweep" on this hike so hikers must familiarize themselves with the route. From the Reeves Visitor center parking lot, we'll go south on the Red Trail (by the post at far right corner of parking lot). After about 5 minutes, we'll turn left on the Seven Hills Trail (blue) and take in a number of nice viewpoints. After nearly 6 miles on Blue, we'll turn sharp left onto the Red TMI Trail. We'll then meet an Orange trail by a stream and turn left. After a short distance, we will meet a Yellow Trail and will go right on yellow back to the brook crossing. Cross brook and turn right on red Pine Meadow Trail and return to the parking lot. (If the water level is too high to safely cross, just go left on white to the bridge, cross and then turn right on the red trail to parking lot.)
Difficulty: Moderate 2 -2.5 mph pace; rolling hills; several short, steep uphills
Map: NY-NJ Trail Conf. Map #118; Avenza mapping app; similar maps
Distance: Approx. 9 miles
Elev. gain: approx. 2,500 feet
