sometimes we change up the route or explore different things depending on the group and how many people have been there before.
I would like to make this a regular Monday night event. Denning's Points is a nice brisk walk from Long Dock Park in Beacon out to Denning's Point, check out the beach, and walk back. We should be back before sunset and we can hang out and watch it... We can socialize at the dock, but bring a headlamp in case we spend some time hanging out on the beach. Denning's Point is a state park which is closed between December 1-March 31 due to it being a popular place for bald eagles to roost. It used to be home to brick factories and remnants of the buildings and bricks can be found there. We will explore the brick factory for a few minutes, there are nice views from the beach, as well as from the walk out to Denning's Point along the river. There is a chance that the Loop may not be fully open and in that case we will take the right side trail to the beach and then return the same way Distance: ~3.3 miles round trip Time: 1-1.5 hours depending on how long we hang out at the beach Elevation gain: Minimal, possibly negative LOL Gear: Headlamp/light as we may be ending near dusk, 1L water minimum, snacks, sneakers/hiking shoes, layers if the temperature/wind warrants ****** Disclaimer ******** HUDSON VALLEY HIKER LEGAL DISCLAIMER & WAIVER OF LIABILITY You agree when you sign up for this group or any of the events that you have read and understand the below.
