Easter Sunday Special! We had 40 ppl last year so please RSVP early. One guest is allowed but encourage them to join hvh and I will need confirmation that they understand the waiver.

The Hike: Please read the entire description before signing up. Not recommended as a "first-ever" hike. Slower hikers need to be able to find his/her way. There is no "sweeper" following the last hiker(s). We will start hiking from the parking lot at 9a.m. Please arrive a few minutes early. If arriving late, just catch up. This will be a moderately-paced hike (not slow) with a number of very nice viewpoints!! Starting at the Mt. Beacon Park on Rte. 9D, we'll zig-zag up the red Casino Trail for one mile and stop by the former casino/hotel site. You'll also see the remains of the former trolley house from the old Mt. Beacon Incline Railway. Then we'll continue east on the red trail and break off to the fire tower. After taking in the 360 views from the fire tower we'll head back down the white trail then red to the right and left on yellow. We'll then take an unmarked trail down to a service road then turn right onto the White Trail. We'll descend on the white trail, pass small waterfalls and stay along the stream to the Yellow Trail. Turn left on Yellow. After about one mile, we'll meet the red trail again just above the metal stairs and follow it back to the parking lot. Distance: Approx. 6.2 miles Duration: 3 -3.5 hours including stops Difficulty: Moderate; first mile is all uphill and can be strenuous for some; the approach to the fire tower can also be strenuos for some; Elevation gain: Approx 1,62& feet Views: All directions Gear: Clothing for changing temps/wind; water; snacks Map: NY/NJ Trail Conference map for East Hudson trails; Avenza phone app for Hudson Highlands Park trails; or similar maps or apps. ********** HUDSON VALLEY HIKER LEGAL DISCLAIMER & WAIVER OF LIABILITY You agree when you sign up for this group or any of the events that you have read and understand the below.
