What we're about

Ignatian Women in Spirit, Service, and Hospitality is a ministry of St. Ignatius Loyola Parish at 3235 Arden Way in Sacramento. iWISSH is open to all registered parishioners. Our mission is to foster community and commitment by helping our parish women get to know one another and participate in fun and meaningful experiences consistent with Jesuit Catholic tradition.

Each month, iWISSH members host at least one spiritual, one service, and one social activity. Each iWISSH member is asked to host one event per year. To host an event, simply pledge to attend with your iWISSH nametag, and introduce yourself to any other iWISSH members who show up. That's it. Your event can be something already on the church calendar (such as, a daily Mass) or you can organize your own event at church, in your home, around town--anywhere! Approved events will be added to the Meetup. Events must be open to all iWISSH members, but you may restrict the number attending. For example, if you host a book club in your home, you can limit attendance to 12 people and the first 12 women to sign up will get in.

Exploring the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius [SPIRIT]

St. Ignatius Loyola Parish

I plan to launch an iWISSH ongoing, small group exploration of Ignatian spirituality starting this summer. In preparation, let's attend this event organized by our parish's Center for Ignatian Spirituality. Come listen to the president of Santa Clara University, and our own Sr. Michelle Gorman, "explore the treasures of the spiritual exercises." If you attended the iWISSH retreat and were intrigued by what Maureen Pryor had to say, be sure to attend this event. More details about the speakers: https://www.stignatiussac.org/events.html

Magis Dinner at St. Ignatius: iWISSH table (or tables)

St. Ignatius Loyola Parish

On Saturday, May 4, St. Ignatius Parish and School will honor two families who have demonstrated "the magis", or more, in going above and beyond in their service to our community. This annual event is a lovely sit-down, family-style dinner in the Parish Center. Fr. Mike Moynahan will make an appearance from his sabbatical, and there will be gratitude in the air. Maybe you'd like to go but don't have people to go with? Let's have a table (either 8 or 10 people) of iWISSH members with or without partners. Single tickets are $65. If you would like to attend, leave a comment and how many people. Once we have 6-8 people, I will have the Magis organizers put you all at the same table. (You will need to purchase your reservation on your own, but you don't have to do it until we see if enough people make a commitment here.) If someone wants to pay for the whole table, or to purchase a sponsored table for $1000, we can use this sign up to fill the chairs! Let me know. https://www.stignatiussac.org/magis-dinner.html
