Re: [ia-55] Lightbox Overlays (Modal Dialogs)

i can never get the lightbox to open on the first tap of the link.  i always end up having to tap it twice, once to select it and once to get it to open.  not sure if that's coding in the page or inherent in the iPad, but it drives me up the wall.  and to adam's point, if the tiny close button is all by itself it's not such a problem, but if it's next to some other button the fatfingering is indeed a real problem.  --lynn

When using mobile or tablet devices, have you encountered any usability or technical problems with Lightbox overlays?  Any navigation problems?

I frequently see these two problems with overlays on my iPhone:

1. Close buttons that are way too small. I shouldn't have to zoom in on the close button just to see and press it. If you don't want big close buttons on the normal website, do a media query in the CSS to use a larger button/icon on mobile devices.

2. Overlays that aren't properly positioned within the viewport, especially when you are zoomed in on the page. I'm not sure what causes this, but I would guess that it's related to the overlay being a fixed size that's too big for the viewable area.
