Classification and Legal Advice for Game Developers

This month's event is great for indies who are looking to release games, form companies, protect their IP, sign contractors, partner with others, ... the list goes on! If you are looking for legal advice for your games or would like to sell your games and don't know what to do about classification around the world, then this event will be perfect for you.

Anika Valenti from The Arts Law Centre for Australia and Josh Cavaleri from TressCox Lawyers will be presenting their talks from GCAP in Melbourne this year along with Q&A.

Anika's talk: An introduction to the Arts Law Centre of Australia and how Australian game developers across the country can benefit from free or low cost legal advice. The presentation will also outline the Arts Law Centre’s growing selection of low cost legal template documents for game developers.

Josh's talk: An introduction to the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) – an international initiative that aims to streamline the classification/rating of digital games for the major territories around the world including the USA, Canada, European countries and even Australia. This session will outline how game developers will soon be able to avoid the high cost and administrative burden of classification when launching in multiple territories in a global market.
