NZIPP / AIPA Members $10.50
General Public $25.50

An evening hosted by Nikon distributor Macalister to hear from two talented photographers.

Esther Bunning

Esther will reveal the conceptual and practical processes involved in creating her beautiful and ethereal imagery. Be reminded why you got into this industry in the first place and how breaking the rules can enable you to find and explore new levels of creativity.

Esther’s artistry unites her creative eye and her knack of capturing people in their natural state, with mysterious moods and layers of life. Esther will share how she is excited by the randomness of multiple exposure and the challenge of telling a multi-layered story 'in-camera', rather than using photoshop. She’ll share how defining her own style has come as a result of continually experimenting and staying true to what she loves and is inspired by. She is passionate about blur, movement, and working with layers and using these elements together to capture emotion and a freedom of expression, with a strong element of femininity and vulnerability in her work. For this evening, she’ll be showing her two recent projects, 'The Angel Collection', and her recently completed ‘Fire & Water’  and sharing her method for shooting these, and inspiration behind them. Be inspired!

Esther was recently appointed as a Nikon Ambassador for New Zealand and is a Grand Master of the NZIPP. She has won many awards for her work, both in New Zealand and internationally.

Chris Cameron

I started my photography career as a photographers assistant.

At the age of 21 I traveled to London where I assisted some of the United Kingdoms leading advertising photographers. This was my education in the technical and business side of photography.

After three years I left the UK and began a new career crewing on yachts.

Twelve years sailing all over the planet's oceans on classic yachts instilled a real love and appreciation for the sea.

In 1999 I decided to bring these two career paths to their logical combination as a sailing photographer. I started my photography business in Auckland on contract to American media company Quokka Sports, who produced the official 2000 America's cup web site.

In 2004 I was hired as Emirates Team New Zealand's photographer and I have been lucky enough to be there to experience and capture the highs and lows of the best sailing team in the world ever since.
