Improv for Everyone. That’s what we believe at Blacktop Comedy, and on Thursday nights everyone is invited to join us onstage. Here’s your chance to get onstage, play improv games, and make a lot of friends along the way (we hope you’re OK with that).
Each Playground has only one rule: No Judgements! Leave your judgements at the door, and let’s just play for a couple hours. That includes your self-criticism. Try and turn it off for a few hours….you’ll enjoy the freedom!
The Playground offers participants the chance to play Improv Games, or “short form” improvisation. You may have seen improv games on the show Whose Line is it Anyways? Great examples of short form games are Freeze Tag, Party Quirks, and Props. The Playground is the ideal place to learn improv in a supportive environment while meeting great people and having fun.
Interested in becoming a better public speaker? Need more confidence? Looking to make new friends and laugh? Improv is the perfect prescription.
The Playground is lead by Paul Burke, founding member of True Story. He has studied and performed improv since 2004, playing with well-known improvisers in Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin, Seattle and San Francisco.
