Can you help with Post-Surgery meals for Mitzi??

Hi Everyone!!
This is Dora from In Between Stitches, writing to ask for your help! As most of you know, our organizer and friend, Mitzi Moralez, is fighting Thyroid Cancer, and she is having surgery this next Monday, Aug 30th, to remove her Thyroid and Lymph Nodes. Some of us have taken on the task of trying organize dinners delivered for Mitzi and her family during her approximately 2 week long recovery. I would love for our group to support and bless Mitzi during this time, and I know that everyone's thoughts and prayers will be with her and her family as well!

We would like to provide "Full Dinners" for the family, which will include 2-3 adults (Mitzi won't be eating for the first several days, but does have a friend flying in from out of state to help with kids and housework, so that's the 3rd adult...) and 2 boys (ages 1 and 8). There are no food allergies to deal with, so anything easy, mild, and famiy friendy will be perfect (Tater Tot casserole, Spaghetti, Mild Mexican dishes, or even bake-at-home pizza will be awesome! Please try to include the main dish and 1 or 2 items to go along with it, like a bag salad mix, fruit or potato salad, garlic bread with get the idea...

Also, if you are able to include any extra kid-friendly snacks or food basics, I know they will greatly bless the family and be received with gratitude - Chris is taking a week off from work to be with Mitzi during her initial recovery, so they'll be extra budget-tight for a bit. If some of us can include a loaf of bread, bottle of juice, snack crackers, canned fruit, bagels, fruit snacks, pop tarts, anything like that, it will be a huge help to the Moralez'! I just want to bless the family with not having to worry about this one area and hopefully we can relieve a bit of the stress and strain they'll be under.

A few of you have already volunteered for meal days and that's awesome! Mitzi doesn't have a lot of fridge/freezer storage space, so we can only deliver 1-2 meals at a time. If you can sign up for 2 days in a row and take both meals at once, that will save time and gas, and reduce the number of guests at Mitzi's house while she recovers. But whatever you can do is fine - one day is still great! If you can deliver the meals yourself, that's perfect, and she's super easy to find, just a few short blocks from the Snohomish Library where we often meetup to stitch. If you can get the meals together but need someone else to pick them up and take them to Mitzi, let me know in your reply and I'll line that up.

If you want to participate, just e-mail me back with the day or days you'd like to be responsible for, and if you know what you are planning to take, let me know that too, so I can try to head off any "4 days of lasagne in a row" disasters :) Please also include your e-mail and phone number so I can get directions to you, confirm your days, and let you know of any changes that pop up (Aleis and Kim, can you send me your emails and phone numbers, etc pls?). Thanks so much - I can't wait to see how we can support Mitzi as a group and let her know how much we love and value her!

P.S. If anyone is interested in sitting at the hospital with me on Monday for a sort of "Stitching Vigil" in support of Mitzi, let me know. I know she probably wont' be ready for visitors that day, but I'm a sentimental/spiritual kind of girl, and I would like for her to know when she wakes up that there are friends in the building who love her. I just plan to sit there and crochet until there is word form her husband that she's doing alright after the surgery.
