  • This location is no longer available

RSVP IS CLOSED, HOWEVER ANYONE WISHING TO VISIT THE AFTER-PARTY IS FREE TO DO SO. NO RSVP IS NECESSARY. JUST SHOW UP AFTER 10:30PM! On Friday May 29th we will be having a screening of the film High Fidelity at Ted Belding's loft. I will limit the attendees to the film to 17 people as space is limited. If anyone would like to come to the afterparty (after 10:30pm) you are more than welcome. Please indicate in the rsvp comments if you will be coming to the film (limit to the first 17 people to respond) the afterparty (anyone) or both. Also I will be asking for a donation of one dollar (collected at the film/party) from everyone who attends the film or afterparty. I need to raise more funds from the group in order to keep it going! I think a buck is a small price to pay for these fun events and a chance to hang at Teds! Ted will have the grill fired up before the film if anyone would like to bring something to throw on it! Also please bring a beverage to share/BYOB (alcoholic or otherwise) and food to pass if so inclined... I will be spinning some rockin' soundtracks after the film in keeping with the evenings theme! Hope to see many of you there! - Ryan The Film: High Fidelity follows the 'mid-life' crisis of Rob, a thirty-something record-store owner who must face the undeniable facts - he's growing up. In a hilarious homage to the music scene, Rob and the wacky, offbeat clerks that inhabit his store expound on the intricacies of life and song all the while trying to succeed in their adult relationships. Are they listening to pop music because they are miserable? Or are they miserable because they listen to pop music? This romantic comedy provides a whimsical glimpse into the male view of the affairs of the heart. Arrested development confronts 30-something Rob Gordon when Laura, his smart and successful lover, leaves him because he hasn't changed since they met. He reviews his top five worst breakups (he constantly makes top five lists, though usually about music). He recalls each breakup, reconnects with these former loves to find out why they dumped him, and wallows in misery from losing Laura. Much of it plays out at his vinyl record store where he and two clerks, socially-inept savants, live and breathe obscure contemporary music. Rob makes fruitless attempts to win Laura back, indulges in new relationships laced with fantasy, and tries introspection. What will Laura do? Based on the novel by Nick Hornby
