Growing up in Scotland Travis were were a HUGE part of my life alongside such other Scottish stalwarts as Garbage, Texas, Primal Scream, and The Jesus and Mary Chain. They are openly considered to be the band that started the wave of post-Britpop rock bands which led to Coldplay and Keane. Apparently, Chris Martin (of Coldplay) has called himself "a poor man's Fran Healey (of Travis)".

I think they are fantastic, and they've put on great shows when I've seen them in Glasgow and Edinburgh. They are touring to promote their new album, Where You Stand.

If you haven't heard them before, or want to refresh your memory check these out:

The plan would be to meet at The Lansdowne Pub at around 7pm, grab some drinks and food, and then head over to the House of Blues for the show at around[masked]pm! Around the date of the show I will send out my cell number in an email.

If there is an event at Fenway, parking will be tough. You can park away from Fenway and take the Green line (T) to Fenway station.
