Overview: Lebanon, the smallest country in the Middle East, is a spotlight to tourists from around the world for its strategic position next to the Mediterranean Sea. Also known as the Paris of the Middle East and an international skiing hub. Lebanon is popular for its ancient history that had gone from the remains of ancient Roman to well conserved palaces of the medieval times. A country of great contrast and diversity both in the places you go to and in the people you meet. All regions of Lebanon are within easy reach of the exciting capital city, Beirut, famed for first class culture, fascinating history, its world-class restaurants and vibrant nightlife. It is the only Arab country that offers skiing activities. With 6 well-established ski resorts catering to skiers and snowboarders of all ski levels and kilometers of back country Nordic cross-country and snowshoe trails, the area provides a unique mix of Mediterranean style, hospitality and pristine slopes just few hours from the sea and Beirut. Winter sports in Lebanon delivers unmatched seasonal experiences. Itinerary: Day 1, Wednesday 21st February - Arrive afternoon/evening Explore the Old Souk of Jounieh & its Nightlife: Jounieh is a coastal city about 16km from Beirut. Its known for its seaside resorts and bustling night life. The Old Souk of Jounieh is small and charming with stone pavements. It hosts many little cafes and restaurants mixed among boutiques, artisan shops, banks, supermarkets and hotels. At sunset, the daytime charms turns into night-time glitz. Scores of restaurants, pubs and nightclubs line the old bay side road from Jounieh northward to Maameltein. Day 2, Thursday 22nd February - Skiing at Mzaar Kfardebian Ski Resort (Slopes operate from 8am to 3.30pm): Previously known as Faraya-Mzaar resort, is Lebanon’s most famous resort by the villages of Faraya and Kfardebian. It’s the best resort in terms of world-class infrastructure and facilities. Mzaar is the largest ski resort. It offers 42 slopes and 80 kilometers of ski tracks and high elevation (1830m – 2465m). From the top of the Mzaar, you will enjoy the breathtaking view over the colourful Bekaa valley on one side and the Beirut coastline on the other. While Mzaar is home to the country’s most challenging slopes, there is plenty of snow slopes for beginners and intermediate skiers. Arrangements can be made with qualified ski and snowboard instructors who can teach first-timers, intermediates and advanced boarders and skiers. Three hours is the minimum recommended time to spend on the slopes. (Shopping or rental of ski gears and equipment are available on the way to the resort.) On the way back we will stop to have some of the area’s fantastic street food. Day 3, Friday 23rd February - Snowshoeing in The Cedars Ski Resort & Apres Ski Sightseeing of Becharreh: The Cedars Ski Resort is the highest resort in Lebanon. Located in the North of Lebanon at an altitude of 2000m and extends up to 2800m. The Cedars Forest is one of Lebanon’s greatest natural treasures. It features the oldest trees in Lebanon and is a must visit for anyone visiting the country. It makes a beautiful site when snow covers it all and gives it a feeling of peace and quiet. The area is not vast but a snowshoe hike here is perfect for a more leisurely outing. Snowshoeing is the fastest-growing snow activity. The saying goes, “if you can walk, you can snowshoe”. There are few techniques which you need to master such as going up and down hills, traversing, plus the correct pole usage. You will be accompanied by a well experienced instructor during the hike. After the hike we will take a lunch break. The trip to the Cedars would not be complete without stopping at nearby Becharreh, the birthplace of Gibran Khalil Gibran. He is best remembered for his 1923 publication ‘The Prophet’. A must visit to Gibran Museum founded in 1935. It possesses 440 original paintings and drawings of Gibran and his tomb. It also includes his furniture and belongings from his studio when he lived in New York City and his private manuscripts. On the way back to the hotel you will experience the natural beauty of the Qadisha valley (gorge), filled with rivers, springs, waterfall and caves. What we're about

    Public Group

Zurich can be lonely place. It can be even more isolated if you are a bit older or if you are an expatriate who does not have a social network in the city. You seek substantive, intelligent conversations and not mindless chatter.

We want to bring together like minded people who prefer to socialise in relatively quiet locations including quiet bars and restaurants where people can establish connections and friendships beyond mere acquaintances.

Our meetups will be carefully organised monthly to ensure we are small enough in number so that we remember most names and exchange numbers with many by the end of it. We will also try and maintain a reasonable balance between women and men at our events.

We will strive to offer a comforting and warm group which is multinational with a high degree of sensitivity and will be welcoming. We will try to maintain a clubby close knit feel to our group.

You may be single, attached, married, separated or a grand dad...we do not care..(this is not a group exclusively for singles, couples are very welcome!) but be open to new friendships and experiences. We could go to bars, restaurants, cruises, trips, concerts, sports events, holidays, dances and parties, yoga etc. and so the meetups will be diverse.

This club will be about friendships and connections but above all having fun together with friends.
