Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)

Vehicles of the future will be connected, powered by clean energy, driverless, shared and found in smart cities across the globe. Vehicle ownership will be unnecessary, as autonomous transportation devices will be summoned only when needed.

All the wasted hours currently spent driving will be used to work, consume content, or be entertained. Fatalities will reduce dramatically, as will carbon emissions making for smarter, cleaner, safer urban spaces.

We will invite several ITS experts to speak about how the IoT and intelligent transport will transform our lives.

18.30 - 19:00 WELCOME/OPEN FORUM

Simon Montford, Founder WEB3//IOT @simonmontford

19:00 - 19:20 "Autonect"

Jonny Cooper, co-founder Autonect

19:20 - 19:40 "The Internet of Things that Move"

John Murray, Smart Mobility Opportunity Owner at Scottish Enterprise

Dr George Hazel OBE, Director, George Hazel Consultancy

The world is moving from vehicle centric transport systems to customer
centric "mobility-as-a-service" solutions such as Uber. This has been enabled by the Internet of Things.

Scottish Enterprise helps partners to invest, innovate, and internationalise to assure positive market implementation by providing a Mobility-as-a-service open innovation partner network for field operational testing and large demonstrations of customer focused solutions.

19:40 - 20:00 "Safe Computer Vision Platforms for Autonomous Systems"

Luke Iwanski, Codeplay

For cars to drive themselves, they need to "see" and understand the environment around them. Codeplay produces the tools to enable computer vision software to run at high enough speeds to enable rapid decisions, as well as low enough power consumption to operate in mobile devices. This talk will cover how Codeplay is tackling the problem of standardizing platforms for computer vision that are easy to develop for as well as safe and reliable.
