Getting back into the swing of our IoT meetups for 2015, we're going to have a look at Node RED (http://nodered.org/).
Billing itself as a "visual tool for wiring the Internet of Things", it's a really nice way to quickly wire up APIs and bits of hardware together.
Neil Winterburn will kick things off, telling us about the 30 Years Of... (http://re-dock.org/portfolio/30-years-of) project and how it used Node RED to bring interactivity to the exhibition.
Then Adrian McEwen, who has used Node RED for a few projects of late - not least PixelCheer (http://www.mcqn.com/weblog/pixelcheer_twitter-controlled_festive_gallery) and with Neil on the 30 Years Of... (http://www.mcqn.com/weblog/30_years_exploring_time_miners_strike) project - will work through some examples, and talk about how you can extend it to add even more functionality.
Red Ninja (http://redninja.co.uk/) are generously sponsoring the refreshments, so there'll be pizza and beer from 6:30pm, with the talk starting at 7(ish)
6h00m - Doors open
6h30m - Pizza
7h00m - Intro and housekeeping
7h05m - Neil Winterburn introduces the 30 Years Of... project
7h20m - Adrian McEwen gives a demo of Node RED
