Will you be sending data via ThingSpeak? If so, I can share this on the ThingSpeak community.

This is going on Sunday, it's not too late to sign up:

"Love building things? Come to AlphaLab Gear and play with some Spark Cores and a variety of accessories. Build cool projects, meet collaborators, and have a good time. Pizza & Refreshments provided!"

I believe Sparks (or their successor, the photon) were mentioned at the last #iotpgh meetup.

Funny you should mention though. I'm not sure if it's because of the holidays or what but their home automation section has been moved or removed...last time I was in Home Depot in East Liberty couldn't find the stuff...

Something else, if you're interested in doing IoT/Arduino/Edison development, you should metasearch Craigslist computer gigs.
I've found people looking for help automating their grill/smokers and even their chicken coops! These gigs don't pay much, but they could be a great way of gaining IoT and µController development experience.

General (by design) but still informative. Looking forward to the next one!

Check out CheerLights (http://www.cheerlights.com/) before our next meeting. I will be discussing this project as well as our standard projects. CheerLights is a social IoT project where multi-colored lights are synchronized by Twitter status updates.

    All,

Just a reminder about the upcoming workshop. It will be on the 22nd of Nov. @TechShopPGH. We will be using the Electric Imp dev platform to connect stuff to the internet! Had a great workshop last month. Get your seats before they sell out.
