We've invited Paul Wealls from mokanix back to demo an IoT project they are working on with North Gas & Power (NGP). NGP have developed an industry leading energy management system capable of enabling businesses to take control of their energy use. NGP will be doing the energy unity and analytics capabilities of the NGP EMS, and mokanix will provide expertise of intricate mobile data connectivity.

FreeLinks is dedicated to opening a marketplace based on personal blockchain technology. The team are currently touring to encourage a philosophy of adoption from vendors, as well as to excite potential consumers. Chris will talk about a case study involving wearables and medical practitioners, and insurance companies. The study explores how personal health and fitness data can be stored and stared safely within the context of GDPR.

The talk will be on Raj and his team's personal journey building Connect-In and Xupo which is an Internet of Things IoT device going through phases of Design, Product Development, Intellectual Property (IP) protection to Distribution. Raj is an active innovation driven entrepreneur who likes to make use of technology to solve practical problems. He has a background in Electronics Engineering & Telecom industry.

19:30 - 19:50 Jiangtao Ma (ESCE)

Edinburgh-Shenzhen Joint creative exchange (ESCE) incubator is led by Edinburgh City Council and Shenzhen City Government, and operated by Shenzhen Creative Investment Group. Shenzhen and Edinburgh signed a MOU in June 2013 which aims to provide reciprocal support for the creative, life science, and high tech sectors. SMEs from both cities are given the opportunity to expand their business links between the UK and China. SCE offers participants free incubation for a period of 12-24 months in both cites. The initiative has also been supported by both the Scottish and Chinese government as set out in the China Plan and Economic Strategy to enhance cultural links and collaboration between the two nations.
