Holloway Neighbourhood Group is a local charity working in the London Borough of Islington. Our aim is to provide people of all ages with opportunities to live fulfilled lives as part of the community. In 1994, we established the Stress Project Therapy Centre - providing a range of therapeutic and social support to people with mental health problems and stress related illness.

More than 20 years on, we operate from our tranquil building in Shelburne Road, delivering affordable counselling, complementary therapies and social support. Our services are delivered by a team of highly skilled and committed volunteers, co-ordinated and supported by a small team of staff. We work in partnership with mainstream health providers such as GP’s and the i-COPE team.

If you are experiencing anxiety, depression or a stress related health condition you can speak, in confidence, to one of our team. They will talk you through the therapies available and help you choose one that will suit your needs. You can be assured of our compassion and respect at all times.

We also hold weekly drop-in classes that are open to everyone.

Our services include Mindfulness.  Mindfulness is the practise of focusing your attention on being in the present, without judgement. It is clinically proven and ideal to help improve sleep, de-stress and reduce anxiety. This class, facilitated by an instructor trained in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, is ideally suited to help people manage the stresses of everyday life and more specifically anxiety, depression, addictive or obsessive behaviours, chronic illness and pain.
