Two esteemed speakers, Chaim Turkel from Tikal and Tal Peretz from Riskified, will provide in-depth presentations on the application of DBT in the Data Mesh framework and the construction of an optimized Gold layer in a data lake, respectively.

18:30-19:15: DBT as an Illustrative Self-Service Approach within the Data Mesh Framework // Chaim Turkel, Group Leader & Data Architect at Tikal.

In this talk, Chaim will take us on a journey, exploring how DBT can help companies overcome the scalability issues that are commonly associated with a centralized data platform management approach. By introducing the Data Mesh concept in the data platform using DBT, we can foster a more efficient and scalable solution.
You will gain insights into DBT's innovative vision and its potential impact on the future of data platform management.

19:15-19:45: DBT as a Self-Service for Data Lake Gold Layer // Tal Peretz, Data Engineer at Riskified.

Tal will present how Riskified has leveraged DBT as a self-service tool within their Medallion architecture. This talk will shed light on how DBT, in conjunction with Databricks, facilitates the creation and management of data pipelines, transformations, and workflows efficiently.
You will leave this session with an understanding of how to build a high-quality Gold layer optimized for performance and accuracy, enabling more informed, data-driven decisions.

Tal is a Data Engineer at Riskified. His expertise lies in developing data pipelines, building scalable infrastructure, data science and implementing data quality frameworks, enabling Riskified to make data-driven decisions and prevent fraud effectively.
