Looking to gain hands-on experience of our local trees, plants and "weeds" that our not-too distant ancestors relied upon for food? Or are you wishing to add an element of "gourmet wild" to your home-cooked meals? Eating wild is super healthy, free, and ecological living.

This walk is an exploration of what's edible, when to gather it, which parts to use and how to process them, as well as take home a few recipes to try yourself. Emphasis will be on building identification techniques to help you recognize these plants on your own, using observation, touch, smell - and (where possible) taste.

We'll also cover the ethics of sustainable foraging - where, when, and how to safely find your food from the wild, as well as from the 'urban wild'.

Each walk will be different, and I'll guarantee you'll learn something new each time.

Please prepay to reserve your space. Click here (http://www.meetup.com/itsawildthing/pages/Pre-Registration_Payment_Methods/)for info on how to do this.
