We've heard enough hype now, seen enough chihuahua muffins and maybe starting to get our heads around the need to address bias. But what is design's role with humanising AI? What should we be focusing on? How does it play out in a corporate setting?

I have no idea. But I'm hoping to be clearer after this event. We have an incredible line-up for you this month distilling some human intelligence from some of the brightest in the field.

TALKS:

THE JUVET AGENDA
Last year Andy invited a diverse group of designers, makers, authors, academics and futurists on a 3 day retreat in the wilds of Norway to explore the emerging field of Artificial Intelligence, and the effects it will have on our profession and society. Andy had seen A.I. become a crucial talking point over the previous 18 months, so wanted to get a handle on where it was all heading. In this session, Andy will recount the experience, sharing some of the challenges the group encountered, the themes that emerged, and delve into the resulting juvetagenda.org site.

CENTAURS OR BUTLERS? Designing for Human Relationships with Non-Human Intelligences
Matt Jones, Principal Designer at Google AI will be sharing some of his team's work and his thinking around the role of AI as a companion to our lives.

AI IN PRACTICE
Using a series of practical examples he will introduce a framework to help you approach the use of AI as a designer, and then talk about some of the challenges and opportunities of using AI in a large, heavily regulated business.
