Here is a video from a kick boxing tournament we attended in June 2017:

Developed from Aikido, Daito-Ryu, Taichi and Yoga, iFit teaches how the human body works technically, psychologically, and biologically.

Through "Tanren" (standing, walking and sitting exercises), iFit encourages habits to practice in everyday life for an intelligent body. A person with an intelligent body gains acute awareness and control of the state of the mind-body even in stressful times.

We teach how to harness "internal forces" in your body rather than conventional power and speed, which no other fitness instructor can teach you.

Our members are usually people who have found a physical or mental limit in their previous ways of training. We are not here to overcome your limit, however we do offer a smart alternative to becoming physically fit. Take one example: We can not help you move faster, but we can help you move more efficiently while appearing faster to other people.

The unique thing about our group is that although there is a curriculum, we are constantly evolving our training methods based on new discoveries and areas that require attention. We each experiment with our own body and verify our results through our own experiences. We each participate in our own odyssey to find our intelligent body.

(iFit principles are derived from traditional Japanese martial arts taught in Aunkai with the approval from the founder of Aunkai, Akuzawa Minoru.)

Developed from the principles contained in martial arts such as Aikido and Taichi as well as physical practices like Yoga, we teach you how to connect your body, making it more efficient, dynamic and healthy. We explore how the human body works and include both physical and specific mental exercises that tap into skills we often take for granted, but never consider using. In ancient times, many martial and physical cultures included practices which strengthened and changed the body phyiscally and mentally. For example Yoga has their Asanas and Vinyasa movement. Chinese arts may have standing meditation as well as Jibengong or "basic skill exercises". In Japan, these exercises would be called "tanren" or "kihonko". iFit has extracted the principles from these practices and put them into easy to understand standing, walking and sitting exercises. We encourage all our members to explore what it means to create an intelligent body. And a person with an intelligent body has the potential to have complete control over their mind-body state, even when under stress. Which can be a helpful skill in this day and age. We take a different look at conventional power and speed, and teach how to harness "internal forces" in your body. If you ever wondered exactly how the really adept traditional teachers pull off seemingly incredible feats - this is the class to join. Our members are here to expand their phyiscal and mental horizons, coming from a wide variety of backgrounds. But most important to all of us is that we have FUN! See below for some videos: YouTube Videos: https://youtu.be/mqxstXXK3FM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wan7rJfYpyI (https://youtu.be/mqxstXXK3FM) More details below: Benefits: -Improved posture and health -Develop the fascial network (white muscle, NOT red muscle) -Reprogramming our nervous system to handle stress and injury -Learn better movement habits. We kindly ask for 500 yen to contribute for the lesson fee. This may be on top of a 450 yen entrance fee to a sports center if it rains, or the weather is less than pleasant for outdoor training. Class Contents: -Basic exercises to recognize correct alignment/posture. -How to walk, sit, stand while keeping composure and poise even under pressure. -Recognizing normal strength and "iNTELLIGENT Strength" -Solo and partnered exercises for noticing and controlling the fascial network. Exercises include static exercises to build proper leg and core strength, and promote joint mobility. Others will focus on understanding how such exercises foster iNTELLIGENT Fitness. Attention! Some of these exercises can be addicting, and may look funny if done on the street :-) Newcomers are very welcome and encouraged! I will be doing my best to ease everyone into the process of developing their own intelligent body! :-)
