One of the benefits by doing yoga would be making yourselves away from everyday busy lives. It has been getting harder for us to spare time for your own, all by yourself these days. Don't you think it would be really special if we practiced yoga in a temple ("O-tera" in Japanese), one of the most sacred places?...Let's do it, then! :)
This monthly meetup provides an opportunity to practice yoga in a temple, along with enjoying its unique and special atmosphere. The situation will spontaneously make you breath deeper and lead your mind peaceful.
Our class venue is Seikoji-Temple. If you wish, you can enjoy Asakusa Area, the most historical and famous site in Tokyo before/after the class...Yes, if we had time, why don't we all have some tea or dinner together and get to know each other more afterward?
So, this meetup is for anyone interested in yoga, doing exercises, Japanese temples, meeting new people, visiting Asakusa, language & cultural exchanges...whatsoever! The class is open to everyone, from first-timers to regular practitioners, men, women, old, young, Japanese, non-Japanese, residents, tourists etc.
It will be instructed mainly in Japanese and in English as needed with demonstrations.
Don't worry about flexibility. Flexibility is not a big deal for doing yoga. If you can breathe, you can enjoy yoga! ;) Again, I put more value to make you spend your own time apart from daily hassles and feel connection inside of yourself; body/mind/spirit...more than trying acrobatic poses.
In this class, I'm also having a little time to meditate (Dhyana) and practice breathing excercises (Pranayama).
I'm looking forward to sharing this very special yoga time with you all!
