This group aims to connect those interested in photography with workshops by professional photographers from an awesome range of artistic backgrounds.
Whether just beginning and wanting to understand basic technical features - to the more advanced & eager for creative inspiration, join us to discover photography at all levels in a variety of dynamic locations (street walks, studio work, model shoots, panel discussions). Improve your camera skills, meet others with similar interests, and best of all - have the chance to learn from some of the best in photography!
The group was started by Frank Aceituno and handed over to Alfie Goodrich in 2015. Last year became very busy for Alfie and very little was done with the group. Sachiko Matsunami stepped in to do a few workshops in her theme of 'Mindfulness'.
UPDATE January 21st, 2019
by Alfie Goodrich
Very little happened with the group in 2018. My apologies for that. Part of it was due to a very busy work schedule. Part of it was due to my getting very little response from the events I was posting and getting a lot of either last-minute cancellations from people or people not turning up at all to events, with no communication beforehand or after.
I'm giving the group one last go because I've had some great events and met some lovely people through the group and I don't want to just walk away from it. I'm committed to teaching all levels of photographer. Photography is my passion. So please don't take any of what I'm saying here the wrong way.
This is not the only outlet for my teaching and workshops. I do many events through other channels, which are always fully subscribed.
Whatever events I'm doing elsewhere, I will also post here for you. There will also be some events here this year exclusively for Meetup group members.

Please note that because of expenses incurred in scheduling paid meetups (studio, equipment, personnel), we have a Cancellation Policy on the day of workshops. Our teachers, tutors and guides are professional people. They'll always try 150% to give to you the best of their experience and create a great learning environment. And whilst we always have fun on the events, the teachers take this seriously.... that's how they get to where they are in their field. So, please turn up when you say you are going to. Or at least give us 24hrs warning if you aren't going to be able to make it, so that someone on the waiting list can.
If you would like to cancel within 24 hours of the event, please find another able to take your space (assuming no one is on the waitlist), or there will be a 100% cancellation fee. There is no cancellation fee 48 hours from the event start. Please only RSVP if you are intending to make events, thank you!
