Houkulele is Houston’s ukulele club, a vibrant community of players of all ages and skill levels. We represent the culturally diverse Greater Houston Area and have fun encouraging each other to grow musically while connecting with the public through our shared love of the ukulele.
With the closing of the Black Labrador Pub & Restaurant, we're in the process of finding a new home. During this time of transition one of our members has graciously offered to host the meetup! Seating might be a bit tricky, so bring along a folding chair if you have one.
I'll have the projector and screen with me, all you need to bring is yourself, your uke, and your enthusiasm. As usual we'll do an "open mic" around 8:00PM, so if you've been working on a song that you'd like to share we'd love to hear it.
Is there a song you definitely want the group to try and play? Post it in the comments (and provide a link, if you have one) and I'll try and bring it along.
• What we'll do
This is a generally small group, although all levels of experience and ages are welcomed.
We cater to the beginner musician learning ukulele chord shapes, strums, and some basic elements of music theory. We have a lot of fun and no one is left out. Time permiting, we host a brief open mic session at the end of our meeting. Come out and enjoy yourself with some nice folks.

Bring your ukulele, your tuner, and a smile. We might even have a ukulele we can lend you for the evening if you don't already have one.

This is an all ages meetup in a public library.
