TG Basketball Club organizes pick-up hoops sessions regularly on weekends and weeknights. We play five-on-five indoor pickup basketball games at conveniently located gyms in central Tokyo.
We have a total of around 1,200 members/subscribers on our mailing list. 80% of the members are foreigners from all over the globe and about 20% are Japanese. An average of around 20 players participate on each session including about 1-2 female players from time to time.
We only organize upper-intermediate and competitive level pickup games. However, beginners and lower intermediate level players are welcome to join every session FREE OF CHARGE. You can shoot/run around on breaks but we will not let you join the pick-up games.
Come play hoops with us!
HOW TO JOIN:
• Join the basketball mailing list (official hoops schedule will be sent by email).
• There's a possibility that we may cancel, postpone or adjust the time or change the venue of the upcoming games due to unavoidable circumstances (e.g. natural calamity, availability of the person in-charge, etc.) so please make sure that you are subscribed to the basketball mailing list.
• You can also check our website for updates before coming.
• No need to sign up (unless requested), it's first-come/first-served on the day!
• All you need to do is show up, pay the fee to the person in-charge before the game on the court, play and have fun.
RULES AND GUIDELINES:
• We reserve the rights to decline you from joining the pick-up games if your basketball skill is below average level so not to affect everyone and the dynamics of the game. Please make sure you understand this very important rule before coming!
• The maximum no. of players allowed to play on each sessions are strictly implemented.
• Kids are strictly prohibited at some gyms (see official hoops schedule email on restrictions).
• Shoes that you use to walk outside are not allowed. Indoor sneakers only.• Smoking, eating and drinking alcoholic beverage are prohibited.
• No fighting or use of abusive words and unacceptable behaviors towards other players and the organizers.
FEE:
• The fee is 1,500yen/session/player and it is collected on the court by the person in-charge before the start of the session.
• We don't charge any membership or cancellation fee but there's a very often case that the session will be overcrowded of players, resulting to limited amount of playing time, and we still charge you the same amount.
• The amount collected goes to pay for the court rent, basketball stuff, team registration, non-refundable venue bond of 450,000yen (club money), transportation/meals/drinks allowance, time and work rendered by the organizer, the person in-charge of the game, the person that books the court online for 5 days, and other miscellaneous expenses.
• Please be aware that we are PROVIDING SERVICE not doing business. We know that paying 1,500yen/session is a bit expensive just to play basketball, but this is the only way we can keep the club running.
• We discourage you from playing with us if you have an issue paying the 1,500yen playing fee.
