Dr.kathyのプロフィール、先生からのメッセージ↓

Aloha, and greetings to you!

Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Dr. Kathryn M. Shon, a semi-retired family medicine physician for almost thirty years who is still, on occasion, involved in direct patient care in Hawaii at the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group.
My ‘second career’ after an early retirement is teaching medical English to medical students and other healthcare professionals. I am certified by the International TEFL Academy.
I have been an instructor with the summer Hawaii Tokai International College medical English workshop since 2015, with the most recent course in August 2018 when we welcomed thirty fifth-year medical students from fourteen different Japanese medical schools.
My primary focus of instruction has been on medical terminology pronunciation, how to take a complete patient history and how to do a case presentation.
I will be in Japan in October and am thankful for the opportunity to give a lecture on patient history taking and case presentations.
I will also review how international medical students can pursue clinical rotations/clerkships and postgraduate medical residency positions at US medical institutions.
I am also about to launch my own online course on medical English instruction and hope to share those details with you later.

I look forward to meeting and speaking with you.
