What we’re about
Meet and mingle with local Japanese language and Japanese culture enthusiasts! We do a variety of fun events, both language oriented and social. We offer a regular introductory language event (hosted by native speakers) but otherwise most of our events are social. Past events have included viewing Japanese drama series (English subtitled), Japanese food potlucks, karaoke, Awa Odori dance, Bon Odori, Phoenix Matsuri, making Natto (ew!), or mochitsuki (yum!), visiting local Arizona onsens (natural hot springs, very nihon-teki!), going out for sushi or other Japanese cuisine, and anything else our members come up with! Our group has a attracted a nice mix of culture enthusiasts, language learners, and native speakers. If you are interested in Japanese culture or language and want to meet others who are as well, join our group! We look forward to meeting you!
