How well can you speak, read, write or understand Japanese?

I am an intermediate level speaker, no longer a beginner but by no means fluent. I speak Japanese better than I read or write it. I can read about basic 200 kanji and all hiragana and katakana. I can understand simple sentences but am still only in the grade school level. I write slower with kanji than with any other Japanese characters.

What about Japan or Japanese culture interests you?

I do like certain anime, however I'm interested more specifically with their different art styles, soundtrack music and the culture that is brought into the anime. I am a fan of Hayao Miyazaki's films and Joe Hisaishi's music especially. I like some J-Pop but often times prefer traditional Japanese music. I have enjoyed learning the language throughout the years and in recent years I've grown interested in aspects of Shintoism.

Have you ever been to Japan? Where? If not, is there an area that you'd like to visit?

No I haven't. I think I want to visit Tokyo, Hokkaido and Osaka though. I have a friend who lives in Osaka.

Hello, my name's Madeline but just you can just call me Maddie. c: I've been interested in the Japanese language and its culture since middle school. I love making friends and talking about my interests with others. よろしくお願いします。
