1. I am a complete beginner in Japanese. Can I still join your group?
2. I am interested in Japanese culture but don't plan to learn Japanese, does it make sense for me to join your group?

Yes. We are a language AND culture group. We have both culture and language
events. So come on out!

3. I am from Japan and speak fluent Japanese, does it make sense for me to join your group?
Yes! We have many Japanese members. 遊びに来てよ!

4. I run a business can I join to advertise my business or events?
Join if you plan to attend our events! If you are interested in being a sponsor
or want your event on our calendar just contact the organizer directly.
We will delete any membership join that is obviously only an advertisement,
i.e your picture is an advertisement, or your intro is a about a business
and not you. Thanks for respecting our wishes here.

5. Do you have group rules? If so what are they?
We are an open and friendly group so our rule is that people be
friendly and civil. See About this Meetup. We do have recommendations
(not required) for new-comers at the same link: About this Meetup.

6. What is the proper etiquette for RSVPing?
See the RSVP Etiquette page for the proper way to RSVP to an event.

7. What kind of events do you hold?
On our home page see the "Read more about us" link, the Past tab, or
scroll down to the Recent Meetups section at the bottom of the page
to see our past events.

8. Who plans the events?
Our team of volunteer organizers plans our events. We are people interested
in Japan's language and culture and do meetup activities in our spare time.
See our About Our Events page for more details.

9. How do I suggest an event?
Suggesting a new event idea to an organizer in person at an event is
the best way. Email, Discussion Board posting or Suggest a Meetup
tab also work. Please see our About Our Events page for more details.

10. Can I host or organize an event?
Yes! You can host a one-time event or, if you are interested, even
become an organizer. We are eager to add new, active organizers!
See our About Our Events page for more details.

11. I think Japanese [Insert cool Japanese activity, thing] is very cool. Can you create an event for it?
See the answer to question 7 and 8 and our About Our Events page for more information.

12. I know of a Japanese related event coming up on the mm/dd/yyyy. Can you let your members know about it? Can you organize a meetup for it?
Yes. Email the organizer the information in an easy to cut and paste
email and we will add it to our calendar. We may or may not schedule
an event for it. Please see our About Our Events page for more information.

13. I own/run/manage a Japanese related business (restaurant, etc). Can you hold your event at my business?
We welcome new ideas! See the answer to number 8 "How do I suggest an Event" and
see our About Our Events page for the mechanics on how events are scheduled.
It is up to an organizer to choose to hold an event using your business.

14. I need someone to translate Japanese to English. Can someone in your group do that for me?
15. I need someone to translate English to Japanese. Can someone in your group do that for me?

We are not a translating group, but we may (or may not) be able to
help out if it is something simple. If you are a member of the
group, come out to an event and ask one of our members. Or try
posting to the discussion board. Also, fyi, Google Translate works
pretty good.

16. I'm looking for a host family for a Japanese exchange student. Can anyone in your group help out?
We think these are great programs and would like to help out!
We are happy to post the request to our discussion board or occasionally
email the group in the hopes that a member may see it and want to help
out, but can't guarantee any kind of result, unfortunately. Please contact
the organizer.

17. If I join your group can I meet cute Japanese girls/guys?
We are not a singles group, we have both married and single members.
If your interest in Japanese language and culture is genuine,
come out, make friends, you never know. Please do not use
our site as a dating website.

18. Have you considered doing an advanced conversation meetup?
We would love to start up a weekly or bi-weekly Japanese only
conversation group, but don't have anyone currently who is able
to organize it. Would you like to volunteer? :-) Contact the
organizer...
