Tsugaru Shamisen Concert by Toshie Suzuki

Japan-America Society of Greater Austin(JASGA) will host Tsugatu shamisen concert.
A Japanese Tsugaru Shamisen player Toshie Suzuki from Oita, Austin sister city in Japan will perform at Casa de Luz Auditrium on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 7:00pm.

Toshie Suzuki began practicing Shamisen at 10 years old and moved to Tsugaru (Aomori Prefecture) to study Tsugaru Shaminsen; travelled in Asia and learned the sitar in India at 17 years old. She was the second-place winner in the Tugaru Shamisen contest for three years [masked]), and in 2008, the first winner of the women's Tsugaru Shamisen in Kobe and Osaka.
