**We need more Japanese native speakers for this session! So if your native, and want to practice some English, please join in if you can! :-)**

The Wednesday Night Intermediate Japanese + Any Level English Skype Session is designed to help both Native Japanese and English speakers practice in their target languages. All levels of English welcome.

The Session will be divided into two 30 minute segments with room at the end for brief questions and/or free talk. The first 30 minutes be be Japanese only, while the second 30 minutes will be English only. By doing this, the participants will get a chance to both speak and listen in their target languages. Both segments will be given entertaining/challenging topics to talk about. By doing this I hope everyone can broaden their vocabulary, increase their ability to converse on a much wider range of topics, and hopefully have some fun while doing it!

Basic Guidelines:

1. Please do your best to practice speaking in your language of study.

2. Remember to remain ethical during the session. Hazing and harassment will not be tolerated, do not treat the session as a dating service, and although the session is a casual conversation, do your best to avoid sensitive topics. The call moderator (usually the club organizer) reserves the right to remove you from the call for violations of this rule.

3. As a courtesy to others in the session, we kindly ask that you please do not use a built-in microphone such as that found on a laptop or a netbook. The club organizers believe that external headsets work best. Other sites that use Voice Over IP (VoIP) services also make this recommendation as the built-in microphones on most laptops are very low quality and can cause loud hissing and/or clicking sounds and potential problems with allowing others to hear you.

4. As a courtesy to others in the session, we kindly ask all participants to minimize background noise while in the Skype Session. We do not want to hear things like loud construction noises, vacuum cleaners, other non-members arguing in the background, etc. Not only are these sounds embarrassing to participants, but these sounds also distract the entire group. Make sure you are in a quiet room where you can comfortably participate in the Skype session. Put yourself on hold and say you will be right back if a distraction arises. The call moderator (usually the club organizer) reserves the right to remove you from the call for excessive and distracting background noise.

What You Will Need

1. Visit Skype.com to download the Skype program to your computer. Install the program and create a Skype account if you do not already have one. It is free to use Skype for calling other Skype users. All members joining us for Skype Session are Skype users.

2. Please make an effort to obtain a headset to use for Skype Session. Unlike a built-in microphone on laptops or netbooks (which usually are very low-quality), headsets tend to cancel out some background noise such as hissing and clicking sounds which can become a distraction to the other participants.
