Any people available next Monday 6pm? :) We can meet in a cafe (better than a bar if we need to hear ourselves ;)).

  • Dorina

Are you guys meeting up this week? any time and place picked yet?

    1 · January 19, 2016

    • Dorina

Thanks Glynis! See you tomorrow :)

      January 20, 2016

    • Dorina

      ahhh just saw your email!

      January 20, 2016

  • Glynis

Hey all, if you need to have study materials, let me know and I can send them to you. For anyone who wants to join my group and knows some basic Japanese already, it's a good idea to have a look at the books we use. We usually meet up on Thursdays, around 6pm in Amsterdam's central library.

Hi Glynis, what books are you currently using and how far through those are you? Thanks in advance!

      August 31, 2015

    • Glynis

Hi Stephanie, we use Minna no Nihongo and are at Lesson 15 right now. If you give me your email address in a PM, I can send you the books.

  • Julia

I'd love to join this, as I've been trying to study on my own for some time but have had issues remembering as I have no one to practice with. Are there any dates planned currently?

I am eager to join, are you currently hosting a study group?

    August 29, 2015

  • S.M.A. V.

I'm very eager to join the meeting as it'll be my first of this kind. Anyway, most meetings are held during weekdays, I propose a weekend meet-up as I'll be available during this time. Thanks in advance! Hope to see you all. :)

Hello all. I am a Hva student studying Japanese and looking for anyway where i can practice and improve my Japanese outside the classroom. I would love to join if possible. I am a beginner.

    1 · February 1, 2015

    • Glynis

Hi Sean, that's great. Franka, Borja and I are studying beginner's Japanese almost every week. We're getting together Thursday 6pm, at La Place inside the central library.

      1 · February 1, 2015

  • Eloy Isai Maduro C.

I would love to join this, no previous experience whatsoever but I'm love with the japanese language.
I started learning Hiragane a few months ago, but haven't been doing it enough lately, so this would be great for starting once more :)

    January 16, 2015

    • Glynis

Hi Eloy, you're welcome to join us every Thursday. Only, you'd have to catch up. I could send you our study materials so you can see where we are now? The other options is to form a new beginners group. Check this guide out to learn hiragana quickly (it seems like a lot to read, but trust me, you'll have it down in no time): http://www.tofugu.com...

I really would like to join this, as I am studying Japanese again from the beginning and probably with the Japanese cultural center. I will not return from holiday until the 13th of January, however. Will we keep up meetings?

    December 22, 2014

    • Glynis

      Hi Shannon,
Sorry for my late reply, it seems like I didn't get a notification of your post. Borja, Franka and I are continuing our meetups. I you would like to see the books we use, just send me a pm. I can tell you what we've done so far.

      January 6, 2015

  • Glynis

Hi Mari, we meet again on January 8, at the Central Library. Probably at 6pm. Then we continue with Lesson 8 from Minna no Nihongo 1.

    December 17, 2014

  • Mari

    Any upcoming event?

    December 17, 2014

  • Walter L.

Wow, 6 pm is early! Likely won't be able to make it... :/

    September 30, 2014

  • Glynis

Yesterday we had another crack at learning nihongo. Fun! This week's homework is practising hiragana and all of Genki's Lesson 1. Next week we'll decide for sure which books we're going to be using as a study group.
Thursday 9th we meet again at the piano in the central library, 6pm.

If anyone wants to join, please reply.

Hey all, please come to the central library at 6pm, Thursday 2nd. We meet at the piano. I understand there's a bit of confusion about the time. I asked everyone what time would be best, but I got only a few replies, so this is it.
We'll be using Genki: An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese (second edition, 2011). Hope to see you guys tomorrow!

I am having an headache now to remove everything:( , although the wetransfer is a nice gesture I do not have an account, nor am I inclined to pay a monthly fee.

    October 1, 2014

    • Glynis

Hey RongHua, sorry to hear that. It didn't give me any problems. The WeTransfer link should be fine without an account, I don't have one either.
Hope to see you tomorrow at 6pm.

Am interested, depending location and public transport convenience. Am not familiar with study groups yet, but 1hr seems to be quite short considering travelling time is 1,5-2hrs an option?

Love to join and help out. I work at a school in Utrecht (free parking, close to freeway,10 minutes by bus from Utrecht central, free use of digital blackboard etc)
    Mon.-Tues.-Wedn.-Thurs would be best!

I am in for a new group. Would it be in Amsterdam?

    November 21, 2013

  • Thomas S.

I'm studying since years - not very consistently. So I'm still really bad, especially using conversational stuff. Would love to join a meet-up.
I could maybe help organize a little room in the Houthaven area of Amsterdam if necessary.

    November 11, 2013

  • Siyuan
