Doris has over 15 years of experience in the software industry working in several open sourceweb tier technologies, Java platform, .NET and distributed computing technologies. She hasdeveloped and delivered over 400 keynotes, technical sessions, code camps worldwide,published widely at numerous international conferences and user groups including JavaOne,O’Reilly, WebVisions, SD Forum, HTML5 and JavaScript meetups, and worldwide User Groups.Doris works very closely to create and foster the community around NetBeans, Glassfish, andrelated technologies. Before joining Microsoft, Doris Chen was a Technology Evangelist at SunMicrosystems.
Doris received her Ph.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in computerengineering, specializing in medical informatics. She loves to travel and she has visited 48countries (out of 872) so far. In her spare time, she also enjoys music, movies and museums.

    I learned how tightly woven together Win8 and JS are... I had no clear idea beyond some subtle hints on the net. I think that we will see a lot of motion and development using this approach. At one level this is the Android solution of JavaLanguage+Dalvik to give the application a bounded almost safe sandbox to play in. I think it will find many adopters.
