So you've built yourself a mighty web application. Your users seamlessly move between features that react with desktop-like responsiveness. They click this, and that; wait... something broke. What browser are they running? Can they send me the console output? What did they click on?
The web is increasingly reliant on JavaScript; and JavaScript is complex and hard to maintain. There will be problems in production. Maybe AJAX requests don't return in the same order they did during testing. What if the user refreshes while the transaction is running? What happens if that fancy third-party integration goes down?
We'd like to introduce {Track:JS} (http://trackjs.com/), a drop-in toolset for logging your client-side errors and events. We'll talk about the technical challenges of client-side error logging and how we approached them.
