This month, Matthew Martin will be talking about Elasticsearch QueryDSL. There will be overviews of Elasticsearch and QueryDSL discussing installation/access, indexing, formatting queries, and aggregations. Following this, analysis topics, such as tokenizers, inverted indexes, and custom analyzers will be discussed. Matthew Martin originally hails from Colorado, but has lived in Jacksonville since 2003. He arrived in Florida by way of the US Navy in 2000, after honorably service for 4 years. He has been developing software, both personally and professionally, for over 17 years, getting his start with C and C++ and moving into .NET and C# in 2002. With over 10 years in architecture, he specialized in web application development for high-volume and high-availability sites before moving into management, where he now oversees engineering efforts and projects for iMobile3. A firm believer in “using the right tool for the job”, he is an advocate of free, open source software (FOSS) such as Elasticsearch, and he has contributed several projects to the community, licensed under the creative commons. He is active in the local technology community, attending and speaking at Code on the Beach and running the meetup group “Jacksonville Drink and Think”. His cloud development efforts have earned him two consecutive “Best Use of Cloud Computing” awards, and he has spoken nationally at Elastic{ON} in San Francisco, and the National Association of Homecare and Hospice conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He has two beautiful daughters he loves to spend time with, as well as his best friend, a terrific black service dog named “Miles”.
