This series is a celebration of Jazz, Urban Music and Blues performed by a dedicated group of home-grown artists, who have toured and recorded internationally. With these concerts, ArtsWeschester highlights heritage in Jazz in White Plains, Mount Vernon, Greenburg and other parts of Westchester and contemporary interpretations of the musical legacy by a group of some of the finest artists in the business. These pros have worked with major artists such as George Benson, Ron Carter, Grover Washington, Jr. and Donny Hathaway but have not forgotten their roots.

The appearance of these artists at the Arts Exchange fosters the development of music within our community through a Youth Mentoring Program. Each musician is presenting a facet of his or her music, and career as a performing artist to groups of local area youth who are considering careers in the arts. For more information on the mentoring program, contact: [address removed]

The NewUrbanJazz @ The Arts xChange is Produced by Pianist/Arranger Bob Baldwin, a Mt. Vernon, NY native.

Each musician is presenting a facet of his or her music, and career as a performing artist to groups of local area youth who are considering careers in the arts. For more information on the mentoring program, contact: [address removed]

The Series is supported in part with funding from the Presenting Program of the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency, and matching funds from the Jacob Burns Foundation.
