Charity Beach Run to Help Curt's Family be by his side

One of my great friends, Curtiss Barnett suffered an 8 story fall on New Years Eve. He broke almost 20 bones including most of his ribs, his legs, and internal injuries. He has been placed in a medically induced coma to allow the brain swelling to go down and give his body a chance to heal. He was not expected to survive.

Miraculously, he is holding on and showing signs of improvement. Luckily, his sister, Gina Barnett, has been at his side, talking to him and playing videos of his little girl.

Unfortunately, he lives in Guam, where his Ex is stationed so that he can be close to his daughter. The rest of his family is still back in the states. Getting there is expensive, Not everyone has the money to fly to Guam at a moment's notice.

We are going to meetup at the border Station and then ride down to Corrolla, NC and ride the beach. I will discuss rules and safety on the beach before we leave.

I am asking for a minimum donation of $20 per vehicle/driver and $5. per passenger. Every dime will be sent directly to Curt's sister to help off-set the costs of airfare and other expenses to have his parents by his side.

If you can't make it and would still like to help, I will be taking donations at the monthly meeting and you can go to their gofundme site and donate there.

Every dollar will help. If you can't afford it, no worries. Please share it with friends.

You are not required to ride on the beach if you don't want to. If you just want to show up and show support, feel free to meet us at the border station.

    Anyone?

It depends on where you want to stay, weather it be in NC or Virginia Beach. But I can say to keep a look out for changes in this event. It may be changed to a wrenching party on Curts Jeep to prepare it for his sister to pick it up.

I am down to attend the charity ride but is there anyone able to help me with a trailer? I have a tow behind thing but I am not to trusting with it. So if there is anyone going who has a spot open on a trailer or has any other idea please let me know.

I may have some open seats if April drives her Jeep too.

You don't need a Jeep to attend. Any vehicle that can make it on the sand is welcome. Plus if anyone has any open seats, we will ask if they will take passengers who do not have sand-capable vehicles.

I would love to do a Giant "Get Well" banner and have a big group picture on the beach with all of the Jeeps lined up and everyone in it.

Curtiss Barnett is one of the most kind and helpful members this group has ever had. When he recovers it is expected that he will be returning to the Tidewater area with his daughter and ex-wife (she is active duty Navy).
