See a movie!!! "Finding Vivian Maier"

I know we had a night hike scheduled for Thursday, and that will still be taking place under another member's leadership.

I saw an interview with the guy that found Vivian's photos in a storage auction a while back. He was discussing making the documentary, and I told Josh I would really like to see it when it came out. I was fascinated then, and I have found out that the movie is now in limited release. Thursday will be the last day it is available to be seen in Houston. I have to go!

The crazy thing is Vivian Maier took over 100,000 candid shots of her neighborhood, and nobody (even her closest friends) had any idea she was a photographer. She never shared her photos with anyone and had a very secretive life as a nanny.

The film sounds fascinating, and I'd love some company to go see it. You can see some info about the documentary here:

You can also check out a website dedicated to Vivian Maier here:

Kids are welcome as long as they are well behaved. :-) I'm not sure if this will be entertaining for kids, though.

I've heard a lot about her. Unfortunately, I will be out of town for this. Netflix, hopefully! :)
