  • Look for the group of hikers in the plaza. If you're having trouble, check the map link in the event description below.
  • We are gathering at the Hobby Plaza of the new Water Works Park on Sabine Street. Parking is available to the right of the plaza. If that is full go to the Fonde Rec Center or Parking Lot H.  If you are late, join us across the bayou on the stairs.

Google Map of the meeting place and our first stop at the Backward Hill

We will be doing a training hike on the paved trails along Buffalo Bayou.  Wear running shoes rather than hiking boots.  The hike is appropriate for all members and fitness levels.

This hike can be a challenging and exhilarating workout where you do what meets your fitness goals.    Safety is always first but it is cooler at night so be prepared to suck it up a little bit.  :-)

This is a great exercise trail in the downtown area. There are several challenges along the trail, the Backward Hill, the Tower of Terror, The Fish Tank, Bubbles the Bayou Monster, the Theater of the Absurd, the Stairs of State, and finally the Tower of Power.  We do brisk walking in between to keep our hearts pumping.

You may choose to run stairs as slow or fast as you want, do other exercises or just stretch.  This hike is meant to help you push a little and see your strength improve over time.   The event will last about 1.5 hours.

For some past episodes in this long running series.
