But there’s little to no new thought given to one of the most used apps out there: The Browser. When Julius Sohn and Julius Gehrig started their thesis at the University of Applied Sciences Berlin in 2018 they decided to come up with their own design that addresses problems most of us struggle with in our current browsers. Julius and Julius met in their first semester at the University of Applied Sciences Berlin. Since then, they have worked together on countless uni projects including their joint thesis ‘Refresh’ published in 2018. ————— Tilman Frick + Markus Ölhafen Product Designers at SinnerSchrader, Hamburg https://meetalva.io — Bringing design and engineering together Digital products have gone a long way in the past few years and the technological development is getting faster and more advanced. While our products become more personalized and complex, the design process is still stuck in creating static images. When we talk about cross-functional teams and setups, we should not only synchronize our workflows between design and engineering, but also our resources and deliverables. What if we could design with already existing code? What if we could combine design drafts and engineered websites into a single artifact? What if we could build custom experience logic and work with live data in our design process? With a small team we headed out to find answers to these questions and want to share our ideas behind Alva, an open source prototyping tool that builds bridges between design and engineering. ————— Vlad Shvets CMO at Phase, Berlin https://phase.com — Meet Phase v1 — All About Interactions Vlad, CMO @ Phase, is going to give us a tour around Phase beta-v1 app. Phase v1 is all about powerful and lightning-fast interactions. Import your Sketch files and make them fully interactive in seconds, without code and limitations. ————— This event will be catered with vegan and gluten-free options. We will giveaway 2 Sketch licenses, Dribbble invites and cool swag from leading design companies. There will be time for networking and socializing afterward. This is an event for designers and design leaders, not a recruiting event. As space is limited, we expect the event to fill out pretty quickly. Please RSVP only if you are really planning to come!
