Mark & Eric, Thank you for your suggestion. This is Joomla! 3.6.2 with PHP 7.0.

What PHP version are you using?
There are compatibility issues with older PHP versions. If you can, just go to PHP 7. It should be faster anyway.

Emmanuel, No it is not using either of those. It is pretty flat. It is an e-commerce site, (in that it has a credit & debit system), but the currency is "volunteer hours" members contribute. Each member is expected to participate for which they receive credit for the time contributed (hours) & once a month dues are collected (hours debt) from their account.

The contributions are an honor system which the member records their own time contribution. Once a month, our Business Operations executes a program to collect those dues from active accounts.

No PayPal or any credit card processor.

Hi Roger,

Is this site using Virtuemart or Hikashop etc by any chance?

Cheers,

Emmanuel.

Brint, Thank you! However, that did not fix it! I changed the Menu module to Caching>No Caching. It was Global! I cleared Cache & that did not fix it. I am still logged in after I believe I have logged out.

Menus which should only appear for logged in members or administrators (I higher level still with more menu options), still appear at when I think I should be at the "public" level.

My name still appears in the "Logout" box.

I am using SiteGround from a shared server so I don't believe I am on a CDN.

You might try setting the user menu to Caching > Never. It's likely building the cache based on the login status of the user who is forcing the initial build.

In the module for your menu that is set for your logged in users, go to the Advanced tab, click Caching, and change from Use Global to Never. Clear the cache and see if that fixes it.

Has anyone had issues with Joomla! 3.X login? I have got something clearly wrong!

When I login, I must clear cache & reload the page to obtain the menus which are available to logged in users! Likewise, when I log out, it appears I am still logged in & behaves as such until I clear cache & reload a site page again!

This occurs with all browsers, Firefox, Safari, Edge that I should be supporting. It occurs on any machine I use, my equipment the customer's equipment or any user equipment.

Something is harboring the login/logout activity.

Ideas?
