Please tell us about your background/interest in journalism. This helps us plan for better meetups.

I've worked on staff at daily newspapers, including the Arizona Republic, and spent the past seven years freelancing for magazines, newspapers and PR agencies, mostly in Phoenix. Moved to SF and re-launched the Barbary Coast News, a hyperlocal community news site, in February 2014. Eager to meet other local publishers and freelancers.

(Please note the "user name" you choose will appear on your nametags at meetups.)

I recently became owner, editor and publisher of the Barbary Coast News, serving San Francisco's Embarcadero/Northeast Waterfront neighborhood. Looking to make connections throughout the local media community.

What Geri K. is saying about this Meetup Group

Excellent group with a wide range of intelligent, interesting, talented people from all areas of journalism. Had some terrific conversations and even got a good lead on potential freelancing.
