Agenda

18:15 - Doors open. Pizza and drinks are served

19:00 - Using Open Source Responsibly \\ Josh Emerson

We all love using open source dependencies, but did you know that many dependencies have known vulnerabilities in them?

Josh Emerson will show how hackers can use vulnerabilities to exploit your websites, and will also explain how you can make sure the open source dependencies you are using do not have security vulnerabilities within them.

Josh fell in love with the web before MySpace was cool. Since then he's used technology to create frictionless solutions to genuine human needs. He's worked at agencies and startups, and now works at Snyk, where he's building tools which help software developers to create and use open source software more securely.

19:45 - Let's get some Context \\ Anushree Subramani

Why do we need React Context API? What problem is it solving?
Rumor has it that Context is a replacement for redux. How much of that is actually true? Let's figure these out!

Anushree is a full stack javascript developer who loves building things with reactjs and has a keen eye for performance optimizations. She has dabbled on a lot of different technologies before finding her love for javascript.
