Job Title Front End Developer
Auto req ID 7748BR
CBS Business Unit CBS Interactive
Division/Station Entertainment & Lifestyle
Department Entertainment & Lifestyle
Location California - San Francisco
Job Description We love Django, HTML5 and mobile web development—seeking same

Over the last several months, we've been building a new site with a new direction. Our new site is powered by Django and built on top of a Java/Spring api layer. While this is primarily a "front-end" position, your skill set must include Django experience—specifically, writing views and templates. You should have a passion for Python and be daydreaming about Django.

With the new site, we are focusing our efforts on mobile and tablet-optimized experiences, and it would be sweet if our new dev had an interest in tinkering with Android and iPhone apps vis a vis mobile-optimized websites. We've already built an HTML5-based mobile-optimized web application utilizing jQTouch, and are interested in building more (possibly on jQuery Mobile this time)—check out http://www.tv.com/rel... on your Android or iOS device to get an idea of what we've been up to. Our new dev must have strong front-end sensibilities (HTML5, jQuery, & CSS3 would be a plus, and an unpretentious web standardista would be two plusses with a cherry on top).

We recently switched over to an agile process (Scrum), and while we would prefer someone with prior agile experience, it is not a requirement for the right candidate. As such, solid communication and interpersonal skills are a must—we like to operate as a team.

There's plenty of new adventures to be had here at TV.com, interested in helping lead the charge?
