Enchanted Rock, a huge, pink granite boulder that rises 425 feet above ground and covers 640 acres, is a favorite Central Texas destination. The short, steep trail to the top of the dome and the four-mile trail that winds around the granite formation offer spectacular views. Trails are moderate to slightly strenuous.
We will hike the four-mile loop trail, then climb to the top where we will enjoy the scenery and relax as we catch our breath. The final climb is about 425 feet over 0.6 miles, including many stairs followed by a wide flat slope toward the top of the dome.
Join for lunch at Hondo's on Main in Fredericksburg after the hike.
