PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE read this event description ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE so you'll know what to bring, what to wear, what our rules and recommendations are.

This is NOT a beginner-friendly class. There are Class 1 and 2+ rapids on the Tuckasegee River, so some river kayaking experience is required for this trip.

(If you are a kayak class grad or intermediate class grad you will be fine.) The water is cool and usually very clear. The Tuckasegee River is dam-controlled, so we will have water. This is a 5+ hour paddle (about a 4.4 mile paddle downstream). We will be moving slow, playing in the rapids, ferrying and surfing.

We are limiting this to 4 students with two instructors so you will all get a lot of individual attention.

Dress to get wet. Every single thing in your boat will get wet on this trip. Anything you bring must be securely attached to your PFD, boat or to you.

* If you are bringing your own boat, a spray skirt is required. Helmets are required.

* Sunscreen, & sunglasses if you like (with chums or strings to hold them on).

* Bring lunch and lots to drink.

My GPS takes me straight to the Huddle House so it is easy to find. We want to pull out of the parking lot NO LATER THAN 10:15. I will be having breakfast there at about 9:00 am so come early and join me if you like. It is about 2 hours 45 minutes from Roswell. Plan accordingly if you are driving up Saturday morning.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
