Directions: Approximately 2.5 miles north of Ft Pierce Inlet over the North Bridge Cswy (A1A). On the west side of A1A look for 2 big mirrors, the kind that let you see out coming out of driveways. Turn left there and follow the dirt road to the launch site. Google Queens Island Park and you will find it. High Tide is around 12:00 noon. Copy and paste these coordinates 27.518658, -80.309871 into google maps. No facilities here.
This is one of my favorite paddles. This time when we launch we will head west towards the intracoastal and then south into the many tiny mangrove islands in the coves. There is a tower on Jack Island that makes a great spot for a break, snack and will give you an impressive view of the surrounding area. After break our trip will take us around Jack's Island and through the mangroves back to our launch spot. Total mileage 8 - 10 miles, time 4 - 5 hours, paddling at an easy pace.
Do not forget your safety equipment, pfd's, whistles, always good to have a rope with you and whatever else is necessary for a safe and fun trip. Bring lots of water, sunscreen, bug spray, etc.
After the paddle if anyone is interested, a stop for some cold drinks and food might be a good idea. Smiley faces are always welcome.
